Short version
We collect the information you choose to send when you email us or use a form. Google Analytics stays off unless you accept analytics cookies. We do not sell personal information, and the site does not use advertising or retargeting cookies.
Who this notice is about
Cited is responsible for deciding how information submitted through getcited.uk is used. If you have a privacy question, want a copy of information we hold about you, or want something corrected or deleted, email hello@getcited.uk.
What we collect
The website gives you a few ways to get in touch:
- Contact enquiries: your name and email, plus anything optional you add about your organisation, the support you want, or your message.
- Free consult applications: your name, organisation, email, website, organisation type, what the organisation does, the challenge you want help with, relevant resource or budget context, and your answer about anonymised case-study use.
- Mosey beta interest: your email address, plus an optional general purpose and optional comment. The form asks you not to include sensitive information.
- Direct email: your email address and whatever you include in the message or attachments.
Our hosting and security services also receive routine technical request information, such as an IP address, browser details, requested page, date and time. That helps deliver the site and deal with abuse or faults.
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 receives usage information such as pages viewed, referrer, broad device and browser information, approximate area derived from the network connection, and session or visitor identifiers. This is usage data, not something we describe as fully anonymous.
The workshop page uses session storage to remember that its resources were unlocked during the current browser session. The entered workshop password is checked in the page and is not submitted to Cited by that form.
Why we use it
We use enquiry and application information to:
- reply and understand whether Cited can genuinely help;
- arrange a call, quote, workshop or piece of work you asked about;
- review free-consult applications fairly and follow up with applicants;
- understand interest in the Mosey private beta and reply about a possible testing place;
- deliver agreed work and keep the admin, financial and project records that go with it; and
- keep the website working and understand faults or misuse.
Depending on the situation, that is because you asked us to take a step, because we are delivering an agreement, because a record is legally or practically needed, or because Cited has a reasonable interest in replying and running the service. Optional analytics is different: it runs only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
If you agree to anonymised case-study use, we keep that choice with the application. We will not publish your name or identifiable details without checking that separately.
Who handles the information
Cited does not sell your information. A small number of service providers help the site work:
- Resend delivers the contact, free-consult and Mosey beta interest forms to Cited by email.
- Our email provider stores and delivers enquiries and replies.
- Cloudflare serves and protects the website and may process routine request and security logs.
- Google provides fonts, optional Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, and YouTube's privacy-enhanced video player on pages with embedded talks.
These providers process information under their own terms and may handle it outside the UK using the safeguards available to them. We only use them for the service described here, not to build a Cited advertising profile.
How long we keep it
There is no honest single number for every record. We keep enquiries and project correspondence for as long as needed to reply, deliver or discuss work, resolve a query, and keep appropriate business records. Financial or contractual records may need to stay longer where the law requires it.
Free-consult applications that do not lead to work are not kept simply because storage is available. We review them and remove them when they are no longer useful for the application or follow-up. Mosey beta interest details are likewise reviewed and removed when they are no longer needed to assess demand or reply about testing. Analytics retention depends on the Google Analytics property settings and Google's service; the browser cookies can be rejected or cleared at any time. See the cookies page for the practical detail.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how it is used, or provide a usable copy. You can also object to some uses. These rights are not absolute in every situation, but we will explain clearly if a record needs to be kept.
You can withdraw analytics consent using the Cookies button on the site. Withdrawing consent does not change anything that was lawfully processed before that point.
Email hello@getcited.uk to make a request. If we cannot sort out a data-protection concern together, you can also contact the Information Commissioner's Office.
One practical request
Please do not put passwords, health information, identity documents or other highly sensitive material into the website forms. If a project genuinely needs sensitive information, contact us first and we will agree a more suitable route.
If this changes
We will update this page when the site, its forms or its providers change in a way that affects your information. The date at the top shows when this version was last reviewed.
