Workshops & Talks

SEO Workshops That Start From Zero

Most SEO training assumes you already know what SEO is. Ours doesn't. These workshops are designed for grassroots organisations, community groups, and charities where nobody on the team has a marketing background — and that's completely fine. We'll meet you where you are and make sure you leave with something you can actually use.

Workshop formats

Every session is tailored to your organisation. These are starting points, not rigid packages.

60 minutes

The Talk

A clear, jargon-free overview of the SEO and AI landscape: what's changed, what actually matters, and what to prioritise first. Great for conferences, team meetings, away days, or as a taster before committing to a longer session.

  • How search engines and AI tools find and rank content
  • The biggest opportunities most small organisations miss
  • What to focus on first with limited time and budget
Half day

Hands-On Workshop

Interactive, practical, and built around your actual websites. Groups of 5–10. Participants work on their own sites during the session and leave with a written action plan they can start on immediately.

  • SEO fundamentals applied to your real pages
  • Keyword research using free tools
  • Writing better titles, descriptions, and content
  • Personalised action plan for each participant
Full day

Intensive

A deep dive for organisations serious about building long-term search capability. Covers everything from SEO fundamentals through content strategy, AI workflow design, analytics setup, and action planning. Designed for teams who want to own their visibility, not outsource it.

  • SEO fundamentals and site structure
  • Content strategy and editorial planning
  • Using LLMs for research, drafting, and planning
  • Google Analytics setup and interpretation
  • Prioritised action plan with timelines
2 hours / Half day

Live Audit Clinic

We review participants' websites on-screen, live, with honest feedback and prioritised fixes. Choose a focused 2-hour session for a single site or a half-day clinic covering multiple sites. Practical, specific, and immediately actionable.

  • Real-time site review with screen sharing
  • Prioritised list of fixes for each site
  • Quick wins you can implement the same week
  • Q&A throughout

What participants learn

Every session is different, but these are the core skills and concepts we cover. No prior knowledge is assumed. If you've never heard of a meta description or don't know what Google Search Console is, you're in exactly the right place.

We focus on free tools and sustainable strategies — things your team can keep doing long after the workshop ends.

  • Finding the right keywords for your organisation
  • Understanding search intent and what people actually want
  • Writing effective titles and meta descriptions
  • Content planning that actually drives traffic
  • Google Analytics basics and reading your data
  • Using AI tools for planning, drafting, and repetitive tasks
  • Free tool recommendations you can use straight away

Conference-tested, community-focused

These workshops draw on speaking experience from some of the UK's leading digital marketing events, including Brighton SEO (twice), Sheffield DM, and the Digitaloft Digital PR Summit. The material is built on the same depth of knowledge and research — just made accessible to everyone, regardless of experience level.

Same quality. No assumed knowledge. No gatekeeping.

Absolutely. Workshops and talks can be delivered at your office, community space, or any venue with a projector and internet connection. We're based in Sheffield but deliver sessions across the UK.

All workshop formats are available online via Zoom or Google Meet. Remote sessions work particularly well for distributed teams or organisations outside of easy travel distance. The interactive elements translate well to screen sharing and breakout rooms.
