About this talk

Delivered at Brighton SEO in October 2025. The talk addresses a tension that's become central to SEO work: AI tools make it faster and cheaper to produce content, which means the market is increasingly flooded with content that is technically fine but deeply undifferentiated.

The response explored in this talk is to use AI differently – not as a content factory, but as a tool for building genuinely useful things: calculators, resource finders, comparison tools, dynamic content systems that serve real user needs rather than just filling keyword gaps. Real case studies illustrate what this looks like when done well and what to watch out for when it goes wrong.

The session draws on research into how LLMs cite sources and surface information – work developed with Jaywing – and connects that to practical brand-building decisions SEO teams can make now.
